Communication students have moments in life that they want to be part of a great production, something that may entertain and create an impact on society that they want to be involved in, whether in radio or television. Well, let us first define what broadcasting production is. As the name suggests, it is the process of creating and delivering audio or visual content for public consumption. It involves various stages, including pre-production, production, and post-production. The idea of producing outstanding, quality, and organized broadcasting is the epitome of communication. It may sound like a piece of cake to execute, but it goes the other way; it requires effort, skill, and plenty of editing and retaking. Broadcasting production requires careful planning, attention to detail, and adherence to ethical standards. Content creators must consider audience preferences, cultural sensitivities, and legal regulations to ensure responsible and impactful storytelling. Additionally, staying updated with industry trends and technological advancements is crucial for maintaining relevance and delivering content that captivates and informs audiences. Production is not a one-man team; it is a fun and bizarre team, composed of producers, directors, camera operators, and editors. These components of the team have different specific technical skills and equipment to ensure high-quality production. One may say that it is just broadcasting production, it is not that big of a deal, but what does it really bring to the table? Is it just to have news that people can watch at noon or night during dinner or for people to have something to listen to while driving? It goes beyond that broadcasting production is the dissemination of information that is verified and researched so that consumers are briefed on recent happenings, which may result in a higher value of living and individuality.
Broadcasting production is a remarkable point in the life of a communication student. Before production, a team will be produced depending on the needs of the production and skillset for anchors. While during the production is the creation of script and recording of the holistic production program and after all the activities, once all of the recording is done there goes the editing and addition of sound effects. It really cannot be boring in every way, imagine working with different types of people with one goal and learning in the process. As a communication student myself, I will testify that production is one of the fun and exciting parts of my studies. There are moments wherein we laugh and periods of time that everyone is serious and not even a sigh is let out, especially during recording. The opportunity to create and produce broadcasting is a chance to showcase what one can do individually and as a team player and not all people have the chance to prove themselves in the world of media. A friendly reminder: whenever there is an opportunity to be a part of broadcasting production, just seize the moment and make the best of it.
